RIP Former State Rep. Bill Crawford
Indiana House Democrats announced a short while ago the passing of former State Rep. Bill Crawford (D-Indianapolis), who served in the legislature over a span of four decades from 1972 to 2012, including a period where he chaired the House Ways & Means Committee. Crawford was 79 years old.

Rep Crawford was a brilliant and knowledgable legislator who represented his constituents with confidence. He did his job well and will be remembered as one of the most capable to serve in the Indiana Legislature.
My memories of Crawford are not good. I remember a militant member of the Black Panthers who injected racism into most any argument. He divided people.
I tend to agree more with anon 4:26 pm. I saw his shenanigans in one political cycle and that was enough.
I concur in not having respect for a racist. One can admire his 40 years of service except for his district being one in which better candidates could not win. He was also a "living" constitution thief.
Wasn't Bill Crawford one of the political insiders who made a killing off the awarding of the cable TV franchises back in the 80s?
Among a lot of other downtown insiders.
I'll never forget what Crawford called a volunteer for Steve Keltner's campaign at the J Everett Light Career Center during elections.
Crawford called him a "White Elitist Racist".
The volunteer was a Cuban heritage cable TV/internet installer.
Crawford didn't exactly honor The People.
Peace and Love to the Honorable Bill Crawford you can judge a man but his soul is forever in hearts of The People!
