A hearing board appointed by the Indiana State Republican Party has ruled that the Hamilton Co. Republican Party's election to replace outgoing chairman Pete Emigh violated state party rules in an effort to rig the election for Emigh's handpicked candidate, Pete Peterson. As a result of the ruling, Peterson has been ousted and replaced by Laura Campbell, the acting chairman and candidate he defeated at the caucus election in early February.
Peterson won the February caucus election by a 151-115 margin. Campbell had challenged 52 precinct committee persons Emigh had appointed at the 11th hour in an effort to stack the caucus election against her. The hearing board voted 3-0 to sustain Campbell's challenge of Peterson's election. Peterson apparently didn't bother to show up and present any evidence at the hearing. He told Current in Carmel he was not told if he didn't show up and present evidence at the hearing he would not have an opportunity to challenge Campbell's evidence. The state GOP committee voted 13-8 to sustain the hearing board's ruling.
Current in Carmel has provided a copy of the hearing board's ruling, which can be viewed by clicking here.

Kudos to the Hearing Board for sifting thru all the BS & delivering clear findings of fact & conclusions of law.
Wow. Some sense finally hit the State committee.
I agree with both 6:36 and 8:18...finally, someone recognizes the power of law (or rules) in their actions....does anyone know who was on the hearing board? They should be publicly thanked....and I never thought I would say that about anyone associated with the Indiana Republican State Committee!
