Nicholl shown jamming cell phones |
Angry commuters suspecting Nicholl was responsible for the dropped calls began taking photos of him and circulating them on the Internet. On Tuesday, a team of undercover officers followed Nicholl when he got on the Red Line at Loyola Station. When Nicholl turned on the device and an undercover officer's cell phone dropped, he was immediately placed under arrest for felony interference with a public utility.
Co-workers of Nicholl told the Chicago Tribune they were surprised that a man they described as "timid and not very social" had been arrested as the notorious cell phone jammer on the CTA line. Nicholl works as a financial planner for the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. His attorney told The Tribune that his client only wanted some peace and quiet when he rode the train to work. According to The Tribune, this is not Nicholl's first offense. He was previously charged and convicted of the same offense in 2009.

I wonder where I could get one of these with a long range? I need one for each car.
I can appreciate the "jammer's" feelings. People tend to talk louder than normal in person conversation level when talking on a cell phone. In consideration of others, the Japanese trains only allow cell phone usage in certain areas of trains.
Yes, please, give him an award or medal. We should all had one in our cars, rendering vehicles around us unable to continue their jibber jabbering. I was behind a guy the other day. He was on the phone. Every stop light, the light would go green, and he would just sit there, unaware. I would have loved to jam that phone.
My first thought was, "Didn't the dude notice all the other passengers taking pictures of him with the very phones he had just jammed?"
An other than fishing bass master would be great too; something used to hurl a cancellation signal at obnoxious bass levels, reducing them to a static hiss...
He should go to work for the NSA or CIA.
Amtrak also employs "quiet cars" where cell phones are not permitted for calls.
Ieon Dixon:
A man was arrested for doing exactly that (having a jammer in his vehicle).
You can take my freedom a little bit at a time. You can take my guns. You can compel me to bow before militant homosexuals. You can rip the constitution to shreds and wipe your backside with it, but don't you dare take away my right to post endless, mindless drivel on Facebook. America, 2016. RIP.
The loud, drivel I hear on one end of a conversation is probably why he did this. I understand. God help us if/when they allow the use of cell phones on airplanes. Of course the government, in their overreaching attempt to control our lives and businesses, wants to allow it.
Put down the device and disconnect sometime.
Funny 4:16, we can compel you to bow before militant homosexuals, huh? I'd kind of like to see that. Sounds like a decent porno. That's Boggs' fantasy, that's why he's so messed up. The rest of us normal guys aren't bothered by gay guys. Just you freak Christian closet cases so afraid someone wants your ugly body.
I was on the CTA train, a while back, and nobody "talked" on their stupid "phones." It was all just glassy-eyed staring at the screen and frantic finger-flicking.
