Jason Leopold of Truthout is reporting this weekend that special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald delivered an indictment to Karl Rove's attorney during a meeting with him on Friday charging Rove with perjury and lying to investigators related to the investigation of the CIA leak case. The indictment may also include an obstruction of justice charge, but Leopold couldn't confirm that. An announcement on the indictment is likely to be made this week according to Leopold.
Leopold is also reporting that Rove has already informed President Bush and White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case, and that he is preparing to resign as soon as the indictment is announced. The stripping of Rove's title as Deputy White House Chief of Staff recently followed that meeting.
