My Daily Constitution Coming To Indy

My Daily Constitution will provide Hoosiers a rare opportunity to engage in a public dialogue regarding the U.S. Constitution and the issues with which we are faced with today during a week-long series of events from September 17 through September 24, 2006. The event will kick off on Sunday, September 17 at the State House with a public reading of the U.S. Constitution on Constitution Day at 2:00 p.m. At least two events per day are scheduled to take place for the following 7 days of the event.

Of particular interest to Indiana's GLBT community is a Constitution Cafe discussion scheduled for Friday, September 22 at the Outward Bound bookstore from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The program is entitled, "Liberty, Equality and LGBT Rights." Ellen Anderson and I will lead the discussion. Ellen is an associate professor of political science at IUPUI, where she teaches courses on civil liberties, judicial politics, and sex and politics. Please come out and join us for the discussion and take part. You can learn more about the scheduled events by clicking here.

After reading the post from the 7th Circuit judges, maybe you could invite them. They might need some brush-up on the equal protection clause.
