Mow The Weeds, Please

This now abandoned condominium project in the heart of downtown, Lockerbie Park, has become quite an eyesore. Waist-high weeds are growing uncontrollably on this property located at the corner of Michigan and College on the eastern edge of Indianapolis' downtown. While some pricey townhouses were built on the western edge of the property along Park Avenue, most of which have been sitting vacant for a couple of years, the developer filled in the holes and abandoned work on the balance of the block-sized lot. DMD employees drive by this property daily. You would think someone would cite the owner for the tall weeds.

Is this the second downtown condo development to not sell any units? I read one on-line that has sold any units. Oh well, looks like they will need to slash the price. Hell, maybe some middle income folks can finally move downtown.

You failed to show the basements/foundations of the buildings that never got built. Those ought to be filled in, too. It is a mess, no doubt.

Actually 3 or 4 of the units have sold which still isn't good. Those are well built condos now at a good price but I dont want a townhouse. They have delayed/cancelled phase 2 and 3. Phase 3 was a 5 story midrise which I had my name on one of the units but .....the economy has slowed everything. It does look tacky now especially to those of us who already live in the neighborhood and have to see it every day.

Three sold signs appeared all in a row. Looks a little fishy to me. One other development nearby pulled that one. They were actually tenants and not buyers.

And they are not brownstones as they are advertised. Apparently these developers haven't been to a real city where they actually have brownstones, such as Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Gary, they are in eyesight of your home and with your connections to Mayor Ballard, I expect that the weeds will be cut any day now.
