Two Indiana Teens Critically Injured In Tragic Parasailing Accident

Two 17-year old girls from Indiana were critically injured late yesterday afternoon in Panama City, Florida when the tow line pulling their parasail broke free from the boat caused by strong winds from an approaching storm. The victims are Sidney Renea Good of Roanoake , Ind., and Alexis Fairchild of Huntington, Ind., who remained hospitalized in critical condition at Bay Medical Center on Tuesday. Good and Fairchild crashed into the top floor of a high rise condominium first as the wind carried the uncontrollable parasail before crashing into a nearby parking lot. According to the local TV news report out of Panama City, there are virtually no regulations governing the operation of parasail operators despite the enormous risk of injury posed to parasailing enthusiasts. Operators are not even required to maintain a minimum amount of liability insurance.
