Court Of Appeals Schedules Oral Argument In Charlie White Case
The Indiana Court of Appeals has scheduled an oral argument to hear the appeal of Charlie White's convictions in February 2012 on six felony counts related to allegations he illegally registered to vote for a several month period at the home of his ex-wife when he was in between homes prior to his marriage to his second wife. White's appeal includes both issues raised on direct appeal and post-conviction relief. The hearing is scheduled for December 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Indiana Supreme Court's courtroom Please see my previous discussion here of some of the issues raised on appeal and, in particular, the inconsistency in the law argued by the Attorney General's office in the earlier Recount Commission case versus White's later criminal case.
