Chicago Police Release 3-Year Old Video Of Police Shooting Unarmed 17-Year Old
Mayor Rahm Emanual (D) and Chicago Police have another police action shooting case to worry about after police finally released video of the shooting of a 17-year old black suspect police thought may have been involved in a car jacking reported a short time earlier. Three of the city-installed blue light cameras near the intersection where the shooting took place show police chasing after a fleeing Cedrick Chatman. One of the officers stops in the middle of the intersection and fires several shots at the fleeing suspect, striking and killing him instantly. In one of the videos, a police officer is shown resting his foot on the victim's body.
The case is also very problematic for Cook Co. State's Attorney Anita Alvarez (D), who is in a tough re-election battle. She was criticized for waiting more than a year after police were forced to release video in the LaQuan McDonald shooting before filing murder charges against the officer who shot and killed him without provocation. Alvarez reviewed this same video and determined no charges should be filed against the officer who killed Chatman. What police claimed looked like a gun Chatman was carrying turned out to be a black iPhone box.
The McDonald and Chatman cases underscore the need for public access laws that force police to release to the public videos of police action shootings and other interactions with the public as Indiana lawmakers debate this issue. House lawmakers are currently considering legislation that would leave it up to the police to decide whether to release such videos.

My biggest problem with Trump is that he glorifies cops. For people who live in the Real World, cops are some of the most disreputable people in the country. Largely, they're worthless cowardly wimps who use their gun and their badge to get a good living for doing a job that shouldn't be done; they steal either overtly or through traffic tickets; they know the gun and the badge keeps them from having people get out of the car and teach them a lesson. They bully people knowing the people can't fight back.
Trump likes these people? Whatever good cops do can be done much more cheaply by a group hired specifically to do that good, absent the mostly negative things cops do.
Hey 10:34 get out of you mom's basement!
Some cops are disreputable, anon. 10:34. Not all cops. Don't paint with such a broad brush.
To Gary's 11:59,
Some cobras will bite you; some won't. Do you want to stick your hand in a basket of them?
This "some" cop-out is a logical fallacy. When a certain percentage of a group exhibits certain dangerous traits, you avoid that group for self preservation. That threshold may start at .5% or 1.5%. These numbers may seem small to the uneducated, but they are actually quite large figures to those who understand Math.
Gary, will you disagree that at least 1 or 2 in 100 cops is suspect? Further, what percentage of cops will write a traffic ticket? Any cop who would do that is worthless, and over 90% of cops will write a traffic ticket without a pang of moral conscience.

Get out of my house. Whatever life you have was paid for by me. You are the living example of "You didn't build that."
Yes, Gary, not all cops are morally repugnant, but didn't every one of them involved in the paperwork to cover-up the Laquan McDonald shooting lie about it?
Hey, I found a great cop!
http://mimesislaw.com/fault-lines/jay-park-shows-us-cops-can-totally-get-fired/5778
Too bad he got fired for being great.
So let me get this straight. If a cop writes a ticket to a violator he is a horrible person? First off don't break the law. Secondly as a LEO myself I can tell you very few officers wrote tickets. Most people who get tickets talk themselves in to it. Wow someone really does need to get out of his mom's basement and get a job
2:01:
Traffic statutes are statutes or ordinances, not "Law." Statutes and ordinances change. Laws can't.
Learn your terms before using them.
Simple, really. Don't write tickets.
Quit playing "dress-up" on the taxpayer's dime, and go out and get a real job in the private sector where you have to wear real clothes to work. And be sure to leave your keys to your house and car where I can pick them up, because you're living in my house and driving my car. You could at least have the decency to show some appreciation by not writing tickets that allow you to have a comfortable life for doing nothing more than playing "dress-up," all day.
Hey 432 I just filled up my tank with your tax money and I don't even work the next 3 days. Thanks buddy!
432, you are just plain dumb. Oxford dictionary: Law: the system of rules that a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its !members and may enforce by the imposition of penalties. This includes local stautes. And yes dumb ass laws can change.
I'm glad that there are fools out there to take the heat, let's the rest of us pirates get on with business!
By All Means! Wave your ass at Da Man!
retards
6:20,
The real burr in the saddle is that you don't work, at all, yet you still get that free gas.
You know whenever you leave that car parked at Castleton that you wouldn't want to touch that door handle, but you get that free gas.
