Park Tudor's highly successful boys basketball coach Kyle Cox, 31, shocked many observers when he suddenly resigned his position last month. The team he coached was 5-0 and ranked number one in their division when he unexpectedly resigned. Today, Indiana State Police and the Internet Crimes Against Child Task Force descended on the pricey private school where children of some of the area's most affluent residents are enrolled to execute a search warrant. Fox 59 News says the warrant is seeking information on the school's former basketball coach. IMPD released the following statement:
“In regards to an ongoing criminal investigation, the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force served a search warrant at Park Tudor School (7200 N. College Ave Indianapolis, IN 46240). This search warrant was administrative in nature and there shouldn’t be any disruption of the student’s learning environment. During the initial stages of the search warrant service, it was necessary to secure the entrances and exits of the school, as we would in all similar instances. At this time, we are unable to release any additional details related to this ongoing criminal investigation.”WRTV adds that IMPD opened an investigation earlier this month when police learned of an allegation involving child pornography in which the former coach was allegedly named. Federal, state and local law enforcement are all taking part in the investigation.
