We can see this in the "Tea Party" gatherings with their misspelled signs, the accusations of Nazism and Socialism (terms most of them rather clearly could not define if their lives depended on it), and the not-very veiled racism. No wonder her political science students complain that she has a bias against students who don't share her political views. It's unfortunate that her drivel passes for enlightened, intellectual thinking by people on the Left in this country. If you don't agree with someone's political views, label them a bigot, racist, sexist or whatever buzzword is popular to toss around by people who cannot defend the failed policies of big government without resorting to name-calling. I suppose we should be thankful that she didn't also compare the tea party protesters to terrorists as Congressman Andre Carson did recently.

Sheila Kennedy Thinks Tea Party Protesters Are Racists Too
The former executive director of the Indiana Civil Liberties Union and political science professor at IUPUI, Sheila Kennedy, penned a recent column in Indiana's gay newspaper, The Word, entitled "I Just Don't Understand" where she laments the existence, past and present, of nativism, racism and homophobia. The former Republican couldn't pass up the opportunity to promote the common meme of American liberals that the Tea Party movement is just a bunch of ignorant, uneducated, white racists. Kennedy writes in her column:

I wonder if she would care to provide examples of the above. Oh...we're supposed to take her word for it.
Perhaps she was confused, and was really at an ACORN rally.
I honestly think you'd have a better chance at a two-way exchange of ideas over a beer with Andre Carson or Dan Carpenter than Shelia Kennedy.
If you want be even more miserable, ponder that she and Ken Bode are teaching "higher learning" to somebody's kids today (not mine). Somehow she successfully eluded the Juan Williams quote, "And it is insulting to all voters to suggest that criticism of President Obama, even by the people who want to throw him out of office, is motivated by racism."
Dan Parker's suppossed to be a barracuda that clamps down and doesn't let go. What's her excuse? Definitely my local nomination for: 'Mind Sealed Shut'.
Maybe MS. Kennedy should watch this "Tea Party" video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1CLPhz0DHM&feature=related
LETTER TO SHEILA KENNEDY:
Greetings Ms. Kennedy.
I led the Indiana Tea Parties in 2007 that fought property tax. My name is Melyssa Donaghy. I'm also the woman from the Meridian Kessler neighborhood who formerly worked as a dominatrix. You might remember me. I was in the news a lot for a while.
Anyway, you penned a piece in the GLBT newspaper, The Word, with these words:
"We can see this in the "Tea Party" gatherings with their misspelled signs, the accusations of Nazism and Socialism (terms most of them rather clearly could not define if their lives depended on it), and the not-very veiled racism. "
Tell me please, am I a racist? Not only did I lead locally grown tea parties in 2007, I attended the national tea parties in 2009 and 2010.
Do you have any words for what we call well educated people who fling accusations about without bothering to address the facts?
Do you know what the words Nazi, Fascism, and Socialism mean? Because I don't think you do. Have you read Naomi Wolf lately or do you just pretend to have an intellect?
It's a tacky thing to publicly call people you've never talked to names, Ms. Kennedy. One would think you have more class.
Sincerely,
Melyssa Donaghy

Is Sheila Suess Kennedy herself a racist? Christopher Jon Bjerknes, at www.jewishracism.com, could help her with a cure, if she was willing.
