Indianapolis' Homicide Rate Continues At Highest Rate Since 2006
Indianapolis recorded one of its worst years for homicides in 2006. By year's end, the City recorded 150 homicides that year. Indianapolis has recorded 65 homicides so far in 2013, the highest rate since the deadly 2006 year, after recording three more homicides over the weekend. According to Bart Lies website, the City can expect to record 140 homicides by year's end if the current rate continues the rest of the year. By this same point in 2006, the City had recorded 70 homicides, five more than the 65 recorded so far this year.

Luckily, we have several super sports stadiums that we pay for, lots of parking garages that we subsidize, are building a new CRICKET stadium, have lots of bike paths, and a top rate, fully-staffed, highly motivated and paid POLICE FORCE!
(/SARCASM OFF)
...violent crime is increasing in staggering proportions. Mayor Ballard has laid off police officers by attrition, to the point we have the smallest police force in modern history.
-And he wants to build a multi-million dollar cricket field??????? How about that money be transferred to public safety?
After all, with the current violent crime trend, it would appear that instead of cricket anybody on that multi-million dollar cricket field would be a target of violent crime, doesn't it?
